Compassionate Listening & Christian Guidance
The word "pastor" means shepherd, and there are times in life when we need Christian guidance from someone within our church community. Pastoral Care is one-on-one support provided by our team of trained volunteers. They are mature believers and compassionate listeners, available to walk with you through challenging seasons of life.
More Than a Program
Our care team isn't a staff department tucked away in an office — they're members of this congregation, people who have walked through their own share of loss and hardship and who believe God comforts us so that we can comfort others. When you sit down with one of them, you're not getting a script or a referral number. You're getting a brother or sister in Christ who will listen, pray with you, and gently point you back to the Word.
What We Can Walk With You Through
People reach out to pastoral care for all kinds of reasons: grief after losing a loved one, a marriage under strain, a prodigal child, anxiety and depression, a frightening diagnosis, job loss, or simply a season where God feels far away. Some come once and find what they needed; others meet regularly for a season of walking together. There's no problem too messy and no question too honest.
Confidential and Free
Everything you share is kept in confidence, and there is never a charge for pastoral care — this is part of how our church family cares for its own and for our neighbors in the Downriver community. If your need would be better served by a professional Christian counselor, we'll help you connect with one of the trusted counselors in our network. You don't have to have it all together to reach out. You just have to reach out.
