Serving God through the church is at the heart of The River Bible Church. We don't pay people to work at our church — we build up the church through volunteers.
Why We Serve
Jesus said He came not to be served, but to serve — and the church works the same way. We don't pay people to do ministry here. Every week the doors are unlocked, the coffee is brewed, the kids are taught, and the sound is mixed because members of this congregation roll up their sleeves. That's not a cost-saving strategy; it's how the New Testament describes a healthy church, with every part doing its work.
Serving is also one of the fastest ways to make The River feel like home. Some of the deepest friendships in our church started on a cleanup crew, in a kids classroom, or behind a coffee urn. You don't need years of experience or a Bible degree — most of our teams train you as you go. You just need a willing heart and a couple of hours a month.

What Happens After You Reach Out
When you contact us about a ministry, a real person — not an automated reply — will get back to you, usually within a couple of days. We'll answer your questions, tell you what the commitment actually looks like (we're honest about that), and invite you to try a Sunday alongside someone already on the team. No pressure and no long-term contract. Many people start by shadowing once, just to see if it fits.
